Best Jura Ena Micro 1 Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals & Sales 2020:
The ultra compact model of Jura is invited in our comparison. The ENA Micro 1 is presented as a very intuitive robot-grinder with an easy-to-use touch control panel. Quite basic in its design and in its technical sheet, this automatic machine hides its game rather well.
Presentation
The Jura ENA Micro 1 is not a very recent model, however it is still offered in the manufacturer’s catalog. Launched around 700 €, this automatic machine with grinder is currently available on the Internet at a price of 600 €. Its mid-range positioning necessarily results in a less attractive technical data sheet than that of the Jura Impressa C60 . This model therefore only provides a bean container, the possibility of running only one coffee at a time and does not have a steam nozzle or hot water dispenser. The rest of its characteristics remain, after all, very classic with to its credit a 1.1 l water tank, a bean container with a capacity of 125 g, a place for ground coffee and a pressure of 15 bars, the all in a small footprint.

Ease of use
Undoubtedly, the Jura ENA Micro 1 will perfectly suit small kitchens since it has a wasp size of 23 cm in width. If Scott’s Slimissimo (20 cm) remains today the thinnest automatic machine in our comparison, followed closely by the Melitta E950 Caffeo Solo (20 cm) and the Delonghi Autentica Cappuccino (also 20 cm), this Jura does not demerit in the area of compactness. This limited footprint necessarily results in a slightly greater depth (44 cm) for accommodating the grain mill. Its weight of 8.8 kg is also contained.
As for finishes, plastic is again in the spotlight. Fortunately, it is of good quality and inspires confidence. The advantage of matt plastic is that it is not subject to fingerprints. But that’s not counting on the upper part of the machine in shiny plastic, which is very sensitive to dust. Indeed, it sneaks sneakily into the grooves of the machine. Our advice: do not let the dust accumulate because it will be all the more difficult to remove.
Only the spout and the cup tray are made of stainless steel. And the least we can say is that they are both extremely messy. As long as a drop of coffee falls by the side and the design of the product as much as its hygiene are highly “threatened”. The spout adjusts manually in height to adapt to the size of the cup but does not plan to run two coffees at the same time.
Easy maintenance
The various pictograms light up in red, for example to indicate that the grounds container or the drip tray needs to be emptied.
Be careful however, when the drip tray is full, it requires careful transport to the sink to be emptied. Its length as well as its rather narrow edges make this handling particularly tedious.
After 180 preparations and 80 rinses, the ENA Micro 1 machine requests cleaning of the machine. Jura reminds us in its user manual that the use of unsuitable detergents can cause damage to the machine. As for descaling, its frequency depends on the hardness of the water.
Incredible but true, it is simply impossible to access the extractor of the machine without having to dismantle it. It would have been really appreciated if the extractor was easily accessible so that the user could carry out its cleaning.
If all the elements can be washed in the dishwasher, we strongly recommend cleaning by hand. Washing in the dishwasher can cause deformation of the various removable parts.
Speed
The times measured are among the fastest observed on the different models in our comparison. Our battery of tests takes into account the start of the machine, the preheating, the rinsing of the nozzles and the flow of coffee (40 ml classic espresso). According to our stopwatch, all of these steps take exactly one minute. Allow 22 s for the second coffee. To have a point of comparison, the Krups Full Auto requires 2 min and 8 s to launch the first coffee in the morning. An eternity!
Power consumption
The machine goes into standby automatically after 30 minutes of non-use. This time can be defined by the user if he wishes and shortened to 15 min. When powered off, it consumes nothing. In standby, our wattmeter displays 3.2 W.
According to our measurements, based on the preparation of 3 coffees per day, the use of this machine will generate an electrical consumption of 0.04 kWh, which represents approximately 9 cents per month; it’s pretty contained.
Noise
The ENA Micro 1 is one of the quieter machines in our comparison. The rinsing hardly exceeds 60 dB and the work of the grinder goes up to 65 dB. As for extraction, its noise reaches 53 dB. This Jura is therefore particularly silent, even if the Delonghi Autentica Cappuccino robot-shredder remains the most discreet of our comparison (from 48 to 65 dB) to date.
CONCLUSION
Compact, silent, economical and fast, the Jura ENA Micro 1 is a nice surprise. Its tactile interface and the simplified access to the various compartments make its use very comfortable. If its features are basic, it can easily seduce espresso lovers looking for a simple and efficient food processor. As for lovers of teas and milk drinks, they may regret the absence of a steam nozzle and hot water dispenser and can turn to a model like the Delonghi Autentica Cappuccino, for around € 100 more.
