Best Polar A370 Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals & Sales 2020:
2017 summer vintage at Polar. After the A360 connected bracelet, it is the turn of the A370 to make its appearance on the shelves and on our wrists. Launched at € 200, it marks its difference in particular by measuring the heart rate continuously, where the A360 does it only during training or on demand.
The Finnish Polar is not resting. After its multisport watch M430 (received 5 out of 5 stars during our test), it’s time for a new connected bracelet, the A370. After the Polar Loop bracelets that target a less sporty clientele, it’s time for an activity sensor offering advanced features. Standing out from its little brother A360 by its continuous heart rate monitoring – and not only during a sports session. The A370 is sold at the same price on the manufacturer’s site: € 200. Strange… On traditional commercial sites, however, we find the A360 from 139 €. The A370 is therefore the cream of the crop for activity trackers . We check what he has in his stomach

The hallmark of Polar is well and truly there: the A370 adopts the manufacturer’s fairly sporty design codes. This new connected bracelet takes the form of an electronic module with a large color touch screen with a display surface of 1.2 x 2.6 cm. Set with a metallic finish on each side, the module fits into a silicone strap available in different colors: ruby, petrol blue, night blue, black, ivory and orange.
It is possible to replace the bracelet or to enhance your sports outfit with another color for 25 €. We regret that a more elegant bracelet, like a leather model, is not available to shine in the evening
The module is not very practical to insert into the bracelet and the latter is not necessarily easy to close. In question, two small elastic links which, if they ensure good wearing safety, are not frankly ergonomic.
Waterproof (up to -30 meters), the A370 is recharged using a simple micro-USB cable. The socket on the back of the bracelet thus has a small protective cover which, too, is not the most joyful in use. It is even possible that it will come off and be unable to find out.
The A370 has a two-diode cardio sensor that measures the heart rate continuously, even at rest. A button on the left side of the sensor “wakes up” it, but it also comes on when the bracelet is turned towards the gaze.
The daily sensor
No sooner had we started the procedure for pairing the A370 with our iPhone 7 Plus than the sensor was already in the pairing phase. Installation concerns, Polar does not know! Nice to wear, even if its very “sporty” bracelets do not make it so discreet on the wrist, the sensor is pleasant on a daily basis.
We navigate in menus by dragging the index from bottom to top on its screen. The settings, the evaluation of the heart rate, the choice of training (Running, Cycling, Other indoor sport, Other outdoor sport) are successively displayed. There is also a summary of the current day of activity, with, when activated, the percentage of activity already performed, the minimum and maximum heart rates recorded.
Depending on the activity chosen, the A370 teams up with its partner smartphone to use its GPS signal. Too bad the bracelet does not integrate its own GPS chip; you therefore have to run or cycle with your mobile on your body to benefit from complete calculations and evaluations.
What nevertheless benefit from the notifications that will be displayed on the screen – very readable and that’s a plus of the A370: SMS, emails, calendar alerts are manifested by vibrations – their display can be deactivated. Note that it is also possible to deactivate – probably for the sake of energy saving. The continuous heart rate calculation directly from the bracelet screen.
Amusing, among the A370’s display choices, the hour display with large vertical numbers also acts as an activity gauge; the numbers fill with blue as you progress against your goals. It will be recalled here that Polar activity sensors index their activity target on the level of fitness declared (in the Polar Flow app) of their user. This is based on three levels: beginner, confirmed or expert.
Among the rare brands with Garmin to offer a mobile interface and a Web interface, Polar offers serious tools on both sides to discover. But also better understand his activity days, prepare and analyze his physical training, as well as his nights of sleep. To find out more, we invite you to find our comments developed in our review of the Polar M400 watch
More graphical and much more detailed, the Polar Flow web interface allows you to truly judge the relevance of continuous heart rate measurement. Enough to monitor and better understand its recovery phases.
Announced up to 3 days with continuous heart rate calculation and notifications activated, up to 4 days with continuous heart rate but without notifications, the autonomy of the Polar A370 bracelet generally fulfills its promises and even goes a little of the. We have noted that when the sensor battery becomes weak, the screen lighting naturally decreases. A good way to identify that you have to go and recharge your batteries
Suffering from no real defect – if not its bracelet a little badly done – this activity sensor is to advise anyone who wants to take charge of his health and monitor his physical activity with attention. We really appreciate its possibility of tracking heart rate continuously. Despite the manufacturer’s efforts in this area, the assessments of the quality of our sleep remain insufficient.
